is dedicated to bring performing arts to the Kern River Valley. The
membership
is committed to introducing the community to a variety of productions,
including theatrical performances - drama, comedy and musical
theater,
and sponsoring individuals and groups performing their arts.
S.P.A. is also committed to involving youth in the performing arts. The group sponsors a Young People's Workshop to teach Kern Valley youngsters stage presence, to develop their singing and acting skills, and to instruct in all aspects of stage production, including behind the scenes and technical disciplines; to cultivate in them confidence and poise; and to expose them to the world of Performing Arts. Long range goals include finding a permanent home for the performing arts; to present a wide range of performing arts activities with a continuous string of presentations by the citizens of the Kern River Valley; to bring professional performing groups to the valley, groups who would otherwise pass us by. Sponsors, performers, and active members are needed to realize the dreams of Sierra Performing Arts.
